1. A completed visa application form.
2. A copy of invitation letter from a host company in Kazakhstan.
3. A passport size photo (colour black-white) of the applicant.
4. An original passport (Photocopy not accepted).
5. Visa processing fee. A money order or company check made payable to the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan (No cash or personal checks).
6. HIV test certificate for those applying for a visa is required if you are going to stay over three months.
7. If application is made by mail, enclose a self-addressed envelope with prepaid postage or completed express mail air bill. Any air bill charged on a credit card are not accepted and visa processing will be pending until payment be provided.

Diplomatic and official visas:
For all representatives
of US Government and US Agencies (DOS, DOE, DA, DOD, DOC, USAID etc.) who are
travelling to Kazakhstan for official purposes an official letter from Special
Issuance Agency, Passport Services of the United States Department of State
has to be provided.
NOTE: Processing time is 5 working days (except Saturday & Sunday).
Business, exchange, study, adoption, etc. visits:
An invitation letter from
a host organization in Kazakhstan is necessary. This letter must be submitted
in a proper manner by host organization in Kazakhstan to the Department of Consular
Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Visa
will be issued by Consular Section only after receiving confirmation from the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also, cover letter from the applicant's company,
briefly summarizing the purpose of the visit and including some information
about the company or organization should be attached.
U.S. investors in the Kazakhstani economy who already have business projects
in Kazakhstan may apply for multiple business visas valid for 24 months. Business
visa holders are not required to be registered with the Immigration Department
of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
Tourist visas:
An invitation letter from an authorized tourist agency in Kazakhstan is required. Note: Tourist visas are issued only for one month and can not be extended in Kazakhstan.
Home-stay visits:
An original of invitation letter issued by the Immigration Department of the
Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Republic of Kazakhstan is required.
Your relatives or friends in Kazakhstan can obtain invitation from the local
authorities of MIA and send the original to your address. Note: Original letterhead
of the Ministry of Internal Affairs must be provided.
Transit visas:
A visa to the country of
destination and copies of your ticket and itinerary is required. Note: transit
visas are valid only for three days.
NOTE: Visa processing can be expedited only when all the requirements are met.
Processing time, requirements and fees are subject to change without notice.
The normal time for a visa request is one week, also possible three days and
next day processing. If you apply through mail, please allow one more day for
processing.

All foreign citizens must register at the local office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or at the hotel within 72 hours upon arrival to Kazakhstan. Otherwise they will be fined by the Immigration Service.
